Kerrie Meadows is a boutique warmblood stud situated in Romsey in the picturesque Macedon Ranges, Victoria.

With a small, dedicated breeding program, we focus on producing quality, not quantity using proven Australian and international performance bloodlines.

Michelle Morrow grew up on K Road, Werribee South near the National Equestrian Centre where she and her sister developed fond memories of running through the channels, catching frogs, playing with lizards and chasing rabbits. Fast forward a few years when Michelle and her husband Brad were married and living in Altona, they would often drive by the equestrian centre and stop in to watch the horses. One day Michelle was watching the freestyle dressage and was moved to tears. “I just thought that it was an amazing sport, the way that the people, treated their animals from what I could see, the love affair that they had with their animals was what I wanted.”

And so it began… Michelle purchased her first warmblood, Sunbury Lodge Ruby, a well-performed dressage schoolmaster who had found herself being used as a school horse. “I loved her. She was amazing. I was flopping around all over her back and she was just the kindest mare”. Michelle wanted Ruby to be mollycoddled so she started the adventure of trying to talk the owner into selling Ruby to her. Michelle eventually got her way and went home and said to Brad, Hey mate, we bought a horse. Now we need a property…

The goal of the Kerrie Meadows breeding program is to be able to put everyday horse lovers like Michelle on amazing horses to experience just one 10th of what professional athletes experience. Therefore, Michelle aims to breed horses that look the part, are well-bred and their temperaments are to die for. And if Michelle can give somebody like her or an adult rider, that experience and exposure to a quality horse at a reasonable cost then her goal is achieved.

As her knowledge has developed and she has made connections with leaders in the warmblood industry, Michelle has gained access to the world's leading dressage bloodlines but temperament and rideability remain her primary goal.

I couldn't afford the $60,000 asking price for a fancy horse. So I thought, oh, well, I'll grow my own.”
